Because most rugs are large and heavy, Parkway offers free pick-up and delivery to most of the metropolitan D.C. area. If your rug is especially large (over 6 feet in length) please call to make a pick-up appointment for your rug. A nominal fee may be applied for this service.

Our rug specialist offers you many service possibilities such as hand washing, complete restoration, repairs and scotch guarding. During scotch guarding a chemical is added to your rug to add in the resistance of spilled liquids. Scotch guarding will allow for a stain to stay on the surface without being absorbed, allowing you to wipe it clean before it becomes permanent. Each cleaning includes a moth proofing that occurs during the cleaning process. While moth proofing is vital to the longevity of your fine carpets, there is no guarantee that it is 100% effective against moths and other insects.

A normal cleaning schedule for your rugs will prolong their life and keep your home smelling and looking fresh. We recommend that you clean your rugs at least once every two years. If the rug is in a high traffic area of your home, such as the front or back door, you should clean the rug every year.

We also offer rug padding cut to fit any size rug! Padding gives your rug a softer texture, keeps your rug from sliding around and keeps the fiber from being crushed, which causes your rug to wear out. This is especially effective in high traffic areas.
